Insect & Disease Control

Sammamish’s dense tree canopy and moist local conditions create ideal environments for Pacific Northwest pests and diseases. Our licensed applicators deliver targeted treatments that are safe for your family, pets, and waterfront ecology, all while protecting your landscape investment through integrated pest management.

We address boring insects in stressed conifers, fungal pathogens in native species, aphid populations on ornamentals, and scales affecting landscape plants. Early intervention prevents small problems from threatening tree health and property value.

Tree Inspections

Professional assessments protect your landscape's health and value. Our TRAQ-qualified arborists identify structural concerns before they become hazards, detect early disease or pest activity, and recommend preservation strategies tailored to your property.

Many Sammamish properties benefit from regular inspections, especially where mature trees grow close to homes, slopes, or view corridors. Inspections are especially valuable when purchasing or selling lakefront estates, planning construction or renovations, and ensuring compliance with Sammamish's tree ordinances.

Understanding Sammamish's Tree Regulations

Sammamish has strict regulations in place to protect the city’s tree canopy. In many cases, removing larger trees requires approval from the city before work can begin.

Generally, deciduous trees measuring 12 inches or more in diameter at breast height (DBH) and conifers 8 inches or larger are considered protected trees and may require a permit for removal. The city also limits how many trees can be removed each year based on lot size and tracks cumulative removals over a 10-year period. When permits are approved, replacement planting is often required.

Emergency situations are handled differently. If a tree poses an immediate threat to people or property, it can typically be removed right away, though documentation may still need to be submitted afterward.

Because Sammamish’s regulations can be complex, many homeowners work with an arborist to evaluate their trees and help navigate the permit process.

For more information, see the city’s Tree Permitting Guide or apply for a tree permit.

“It was really easy to talk to Steve, the arborist who did the initial assessment. He was really knowledgeable, understood what I had in mind, and had a great suggestion for my struggling tree that needed some help. The guys who did the work were pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient. My two trees look balanced and so much better after pruning. So glad I finally got it done :-)”

“Mike and Austin did such a great job limbing my large cedar tree and pruning an old, tired apple tree to help it survive – hopefully another hundred years. They were on time, meticulous with their work, and cleaned up everything, leaving the place better than they found it. Seattle Tree Care’s price was fair, and their scheduling and estimation process was easy and efficient.”
